How to clean and care for a resin shower tray
A resin shower tray lasts for years if you look after it well. The good news: maintenance is very simple. Here’s how to do it without damaging the finish or the anti-slip surface.
Everyday cleaning
All you need is warm water and a pH-neutral soap (or a little shower gel) and a sponge or soft cloth. Rinse and dry with a cloth to avoid limescale marks.
What NOT to use
- Bleach and ammonia: over time they can alter the colour and shine.
- Abrasive or metal scourers: they scratch the surface.
- Harsh limescale removers on a regular basis.
The class C3 anti-slip finish needs no special products to keep its grip.
Stubborn stains and limescale
For limescale, a gentle mix of water and vinegar left on for a couple of minutes and then rinsed works well. For the odd spot stain, baking soda and water made into a paste does the job.
Minor scratches
One of the advantages of resin is that it’s repairable: surface scratches can usually be blended out and, for bigger ones, repair kits are available.
